At Pentagon’s request, Gov. J.B. Pritzker sends 500 Illinois National Guard troops to Washington amid ‘heightened threat environment’

Gov. J.B. Pritzker is sending roughly 500 Illinois National Guard members to Washington, D.C., to aid in the security of the nation’s capital at the request of the Defense Department, state officials said Thursday.
